Download the Forj app, tap Sign Up, and choose LinkedIn (recommended), Google, or Apple to connect. LinkedIn is the primary method — it verifies your professional identity automatically. You'll then complete a 5-step onboarding: professional info, education, interests, relationship intent, and photos.

Under 5 minutes for most users. The onboarding is designed specifically for busy professionals — direct questions, no unnecessary steps. You'll need to upload a minimum of 3 photos and complete a short selfie verification.

Forj launches in Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt) first, but it's designed for professionals globally. If you're outside Nigeria, you can still create an account — match density will grow as we expand.

Yes. The free tier includes profile creation, LinkedIn verification, 20 swipes/day, 3 Super Likes/day, basic filters, and unlimited messaging with mutual matches. Premium (₦9,999/month) removes limits and adds advanced features.

No. Forj uses LinkedIn OAuth only to verify your professional identity (job title, company, education). We never post on your behalf, access your connections list, or share any information publicly on LinkedIn.

Yes. Go to Profile → Edit Profile to update your display name, bio, career details, interests, and photos at any time. Changes to professional info may require re-verification.

You can upload between 3 and 6 photos. A minimum of 3 is required for your profile to appear in discovery. We recommend 4–5 photos including at least one clear face photo and one showing your personality or interests.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, matches, messages, and all associated data from Forj servers. This action cannot be undone. Alternatively, you can deactivate your account temporarily, which hides your profile without deleting data.

Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy → Block User to prevent a specific person from seeing or interacting with your profile. Premium users also have access to broader visibility controls.

Each match receives a 0–100% compatibility score based on four weighted factors: interests & values (40%), career alignment (25%), relationship intent (20%), and education & background (15%). Higher scores mean stronger long-term compatibility — but mutual interest and conversation still matter.

Free users get 20 swipes per day, resetting at midnight. Premium users get unlimited swipes. If you hit your daily limit, you'll see an option to upgrade to Premium.

A Super Like signals strong interest before a mutual match. The recipient gets a priority notification and your profile is highlighted in their discovery feed. Free users get 3 per day; Premium users get 10. Super Likes significantly increase the chance of a mutual match.

Premium users can filter by: industry category, years of experience, career level (entry to executive), employment type, work schedule, professional interests, education level, relocation openness, and work-life balance preference. These filters are in addition to the free basic filters (profession, age, location, education, interests).

Yes. Go to Settings → Location to update your discovery location and radius. Premium users have expanded discovery flexibility across cities and regions.

You can message someone only after a mutual match — both of you have swiped right on each other. This ensures all conversations are welcome and intentional. There are no cold messages on Forj.

No. Once you match with someone, messaging is unlimited for both free and Premium users. There's no pay-per-message gating or artificial conversation limits.

Icebreakers are conversation starters automatically generated based on your shared interests with a match. Three new prompts rotate daily. They generate 25% higher response rates compared to custom first messages and make starting a conversation feel natural.

Go to Profile → Premium → Choose Plan inside the app. Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). You can also pay via Paystack with card, bank transfer, or USSD.

Yes, cancel anytime. On iOS, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Forj. On Android, open Google Play → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Forj. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Forj accepts all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfer, and USSD via Paystack. International cards are also accepted. All transactions are secured by Paystack's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

Try: (1) Force-close and reopen the app, (2) Go to Profile → Premium → Restore Purchase. If the issue persists, contact support@forjapp.com with your transaction reference and we'll resolve it within 6 hours for Premium users.

Open their profile or chat and tap the three-dot menu (⋯). Select "Report" and choose a reason. Reports are confidential, anonymous, and reviewed by our Trust & Safety team within 6 hours. You can also block someone immediately without reporting.

Yes. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Data at rest uses AES-256 encryption. Forj is NDPR and GDPR compliant — you can access, export, or permanently delete all your data at any time through Settings → Privacy.

Our Trust & Safety team reviews every report within 6 hours. Depending on the severity and history, actions may include: a formal warning, temporary suspension, permanent account removal, and in serious cases, referral to relevant authorities. You'll be notified when action is taken.
